1st Lady of FTBC

1st Lady, Mrs. Lurlie Sharp

It is truly by faith and much prayer that our Pastor is leading  the church in the direction of our church motto, "The Church That Is Built on Faith and Grows by Love".  I see the growth.  Perhaps not so much numerically but spiritually which is the  most significant part of any church growth.

Our theme for the year, "Transforming Our Families Through God's Word" is certainly a focus that we are concentrating on here at Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church (FTBC) because of the love of family and the caring for others in the life of our church.  The Lord is certainly keeping His arms around our Pastor to give him strength to endure and keep the faith as he leads this church ministry.

Although I was not a part of FTBC when it was organized (1964), my journey did begin in 1972 when the Lord blessed me to become the wife of  Rev. Dr. Donald L. Sharp. I've experienced much joy on this journey and I thank God for affording me the opportunity to serve the church with my husband.

I enjoy my participation as a member of the WMU (Women's Missionary Union) and teaching Sunday Morning Bible School for the best class ever (The Bereans).  Both ministries are terrific to work and share with and I feel very proud and grateful being involved.  Thus, I pen the words of  Jeremiah:
"It is of the Lord's mercies and loving-kindness that we are not consumed because His (tender) compassions fail not.  They are new every morning, great and abundant is your stability and faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23, The Amplified Bible).

With the Love of Christ
